The Legacy Drafting difference

Everything you get when you work with Legacy Drafting.

You Have an Assigned Drafter

Build a Solid and Dependable Relationship with Your Dedicated Drafter.

You're assigned a dedicated drafter so that the same person—who gets to know you, your firm, and your preferences—is working on every single draft request you send us. We don't randomly assign drafts to anyone on our team, only to your dedicated drafter.

Four Pairs of Eyes on Every Draft

We Practically Eliminate the Chance for Any Avoidable Errors or Typos.

Your clients' plans are fully reviewed by four team members every single time. Our administrative assistant does the first pass, your dedicated drafter does the second pass, our proofreader does the nit-picky type of review related to exact spellings, and our estate plan reviewer does the final pass. We stand by high-quality error-free drafts at all times.

Rapid Turnaround Without Sacrificing Quality

You Get Your Estate Plan Drafts Back in Five Business Days.

How can we deliver every single draft every single time in such a quick window? Because we help you dial in your intake, design, and approval phases so efficiently that when a draft request gets to your drafter's desk, we don't have to stop and ask you for anything at all. There's no missing info, no clarifications needed, or anything else that would create an interruption. Both your process and ours are well-oiled machines designed to deliver high-quality drafts to you on time, every time.

Direct Access to Our Whole Team

Run Any Question by Our Team and We'll Be a Second Brain to Help You

We do more than drafting. Our whole team has extensive experience designing and preparing estate plans, and you get direct access to our entire team in a dedicated Slack channel just for you and your team so we can quickly help you with any questions that arise, whether related to a specific draft request or not.

Personalized Onboarding + Recommended Scenarios

We Guide You Each Step of the Way and Give You Our Recommended Scenarios.

We know that outsourcing your drafting is a big decision and might even sound a little stressful. Some of our most successful attorneys felt this way in the beginning too, and what they found is that after jumping in and trusting the process is that they have so much of their precious time back! Best of all, your personalized onboarding is FREE!

You've got questions.

We've got answers.

What if I'm not subscribed to Legacy Architects?
We can draft for Personal Family Lawyers in good standing even if you're not subscribed to Legacy Architects. Because organization and completeness of client information is essential to high-quality drafting, if you don't have Legacy Architects then we'll teach you our standardized process as to how you'll organize and submit all client information to our team for drafting.
Is drafting software included?
An important distinction is that a drafting service is not itself drafting software. Our drafting team works in your chosen drafting software that you subscribe to separately. We take care of what we call the “busy work” doing the drafting — preparing the drafting interview, assembling into Word, and editing the Word documents for your final review and sign-off. Our team is trained in the popular software available for estate planning attorneys and we learn any new platform that one of our lawyers might use.
What is the turnaround time?
We have a five-business day turnaround time on all draft requests. In rare occasions, the turnaround time might be longer depending on volume from a lawyer's office and a few other desired personalizations.
How does billing work?
We charge the bundle fee and any applicable add-ons in full upon receiving the draft request. If your payment method is declined, we'll reach out to you directly as we do not begin work until a payment is successful. All payments are non-refundable.
Can I make edits to a draft?
We draft estate plans start-to-finish based on the information you provide to us at the time you submit the draft request. To that end, we help you dial in the pre-drafting workflow as efficiently as possible so that the chance of a client changing their information last-minute is absolutely minimized. If any information does change mid-stream, you would make those edits to the Word documents we deliver to you.
What if I need extra documents drafted?
Our drafting team can prepare additional documents that you include in each estate plan such as a stand-alone guardianship plan, trust funding acknowledgment, statutory power of attorney, specific deed type, etc. You provide the template and then our drafting team uses your template when preparing your drafts. Note that we don't draft any foundational documents from scratch that your drafting software should accommodate (e.g., trust, will, power of attorney, etc.).
What if I have questions during the drafting process?
You have access to your dedicated drafter and our whole team at all times during business hours. For any questions that arise during a draft or at any other time, post those questions in your dedicated channel and we'll respond right away.
What if my clients don't need the Kids Protection Plan?
We include the guardianship suite free of charge for all clients who are parents of minor children. If your client doesn't need the guardianship suite, we simply don't prepare those documents; the fee is not reduced in that case.
How much time do I actually save?
We've drafted thousands of estate plans and so we have our drafting process down to a science. We can say with confidence that you save 4-7 hours per client if you did the drafting, proofreading, and final review all yourself. Of course, how much time you choose to spend reviewing each draft we deliver to you is up to you. We train you on the three “Attorney Review Styles” so that you can review confidently and expeditiously without wasting any time.
What if I change my drafting software?
No problem. If you change your chosen drafting software (say from WealthCounsel to Trustate, from InteractiveLegal to Lipman's, etc.), we'll hold another onboarding call with you to discuss your custom scenarios, firm preferences, and post-assembly checklist that we maintain for you. The one-time fee to redo onboarding and documentation is $400.
How does your drafting pricing compare to other options?
In reviewing other outsourced companies' pricing, you'll find Legacy Drafting rates are competitive and affordable. For example, the total fee charged by another outsourced company for a trust plan for a couple with minor children, one piece of real estate, and one business comes to a total of $975, whereas our Trust Complete bundle includes all of the same elements and is only $500. Everything we charge is flat fee agreed to in advance so there are no surprises.
What if my client backs out and I don't need the draft anymore?
This situation should be exceedingly rare when you follow the Legacy workflow that we teach you. However, if it does happen, then let your drafter know immediately and we'll stop work. Depending on the situation, we may give you a courtesy credit that you can use toward a future draft.
What if I'm no longer a Personal Family Lawyer?
These special rates are for Personal Family Lawyers in good standing only. We can draft for any lawyer who chooses to utilize our service; however, you would no longer receive the special PFL pricing shown above.

About the Creator, Founder, and CEO

Bonnie Faucett

For too long I struggled endlessly in quicksand in my estate planning firm.

I spent late nights at the office, worked on the weekends, and missed dinners with my kids.

I took on debt to cover my marketing expenses and more debt to cover payroll costs because I'd hired too early.

I was drafting late-night and last-minute, putting documents with typos in front of my clients for signature.

Basically it was a nightmare. I was sacrificing profit, sanity, and precious time while mired in this chaos.

I figured there had to be a better way — and I started working on it, uncovering key things they don't teach us in law school.

That's when I pioneered the Hourglass Model that lays out the six-phase framework for estate planning, the Elegant Data Model to keep yourself and your clients organized, and the little known secrets to utmost hyper-efficiency and profit.

Then I realized the problem was bigger than I thought, and I started sharing it.

With Legacy Drafting I'm sharing everything I've ever learned about how to confidently outsource your drafting — the system I always wished I'd had when I was practicing full-time.

And finally, lawyers just like me — and you — are using Legacy Drafting to consistently take home more profit, save precious time, and bring order from the chaos.

And you can too.

After earning her bachelors degree from Colgate University and law degree from The University of Texas at Austin, Bonnie founded three businesses with two successful exits.

Bonnie has helped 834 families with their estate planning, 574 estate planning attorneys with saving profit, and overseen the drafting of 5,318 estate plans to help attorneys repurpose that time to generate $11.97M in revenue.

Bonnie lives in Colorado with her Army husband, five children, and stepdaughter. They spend their time hiking, skiing, and traveling.
